Mmm,.. New Nikon, Lovin it better,...lol

Post  Paully on Tue Oct 07, 2008 11:44 pm

After discovering that Canon has gone leaps and bounds in the wrong dirrection with the Xsi, I have move on back with Nikon,.. the D60 infact,.. Canon has long been on my bad side for poor lens quality and soft images,.. Despite many credits to beautiful shots I have taken with the Canon XT, I can only image how much better these shots could have been had I used Nikon. I shouldn't have to spend $1500 for a quality Canon lens, they should be standard clear on all fronts. Nikon on the other hand has exceptional lens quality on all levels in my opinion. In any respect, I have had much experience with both brands in day, night and professional shootings and its Nikon hands down. I am very picky in my work and find myself much more satisfied with the nikon quality. Here are some shots from today and tonight using the Nikon D60

Thanks Paully! I have been wanting the Canon Xsi. I have the Canon Eos Rebel 35mm. and i love it! so i figure if i stick with that brand i can use my lenses on the digital, and save some expense there.. but you have to think quality too! I almost got the digital canon a month ago. but alas.. had to pay the morgage, so maybe that was a good thing.. i've always loved the quality of malibus pics.. very sharp, and beautiful..(could have been the photographer thou) Smile so with your opinion too.. i'll have to go back to the drawing board and weigh my options..
PS>> Your pics are beautiful,also!!

a thing to also consider is that the Canon digitals are nasty for memory card corruption,.. the camera has a poor system to manage photos,.. for example Malibu and I were taking pics trying to make sence of the Canon's inability to replicate a rooms lighting natually.. We were taking pics and going back and fourth camera to computer and comparing shots, then all of a sudden, the camera couldn't read its own pictures yet we could on the computer... coruption was beginning all over again,.. another thing, Quite often on many Canons I have tried,.. afer a few picutres, the camera hangs for proccessing... not a good sign. I have trown every bad case scenario at my nikon to replicate any one issue I have had before with canon and there is no concern,.. even after a 15 shot burst, it was ready instantly for another picture,.. Canon was a good 20 seconds of proccessing. Finally,.. overall quality was a big thing,.. Nikon feels like a good quality camera, Canon feels like recycled plastic. Malibu knows how I am not biased to either brand,.. until now,.. Nikon proved themsleves in the past few years. Lets face it,.. Nikon had to be damn good for me have to convert all my gear,.. I had Many lenses for the Canon, filters, macro set, a $400 flash, and much more. And for that like you Katie, it was a tough choise to make and required concrete proof I was better off with Nikon. I have been Nikonified,...lol Smile

I could not have said things better myself. But the proof was in the shooting. Nikon seems to have the clarity and sharpness. For some reason canon lens seem to take great pictures but results are by far not the same. Pictures taken with a canon seem to be more on the smooth side. In some cases you can have some really great results. As paully owned a canon for long time and I've always been impressed with his shots.

It could be posible that the new canon may have some design issues might it be software or hardware or a combination of both. Either way not working well. Im sure canon will have some work to do to correct this issue or they will have some very unhappy loyal customers on their hands....

Im happy to be a nikon user Smile
