Hey Everyone....I''m looking for input :)

Post  hemi_69 on Sat May 23, 2009 4:32 pm

Hi all!!! Havent been around in a while things have been crazy, hoping that with th enice weather here thats going to change Smile
I have a 5 generations picture that we did for my wife and she wants to frame it and hang it on the wall however I'm not 100% happy with it, anyone have any ideas in how to make it maybe a little sharper or something? I really have no idea what exactly I am trying to do but like I said I'm just not completly happy with it.
Any comments suggestions or Ideas are welcome.
Thanks

hmmmm... i like the hands idea.. but i think i would have had them all touching somehow. maybe holding the eldests hand or even the eldest and baby holding hands. idk..
but how about something with the edging of the photo. soften it. or add a design at the edge.. .. i dont like the arms cutting off,, looks harsh..

Thats a lot closer to what i was looking for Mali, the one I had just didnt have enough defenition I think, seemed like it was a little too washed out maybe. Retaking the picture isnt really an option unfortunatly as My Wifes Great Grandmother doesnt live in town here and we tried getting the hands together and touching but the baby wanted nothing to do with that lol, we actually had to use candies and snap the picture when she reached in to grab them. What exactly did you do Malibu? I tried for a while and everything I did just didnt look right to me.

i was thinking more on the lines of a soft focus i guess. where the center is focused and the edges blurred.. I like mali's touch it darkens it a bit and adds definition.. but it still just looks off with the edges to me...

i kinda figured it was tooo late for the hand touching.. but it was a thought.. i like the candy idea.. clever..

How about this- oversharpening, then conversion to grayscale.

Or oversaturating to bring out the black, with more contrast added.

Yes, but it shows the progression from baby soft through the generations to the oldest's CHARACTER!

Looking at the original image it seemed slightly over exposed and needed sharpening. I think my revised image did that.

thanks everyone, I do like the idea of softening the edges a bit, maybe not quite so much but I'm going to try and do a little if I ever get time lol. Noel your changes are defenitly good I like the defenition in the wrinkles etc, I think though that Mali hit it on the head with darkening it, I think the original was a little over exposed myself and Malibus changes seem to have done what I was looking for, but again I'm going to try and soften the edges and see what happens, It's also being put into a frame that has a white matting with Black edges and the frame itself is black as well so I'm not sure how it will look with the edges softened once put in the frame.
Thanks Again Everyone!!!
