Just a Reminder
Hey Everyone, I would highly recommend to back up all your pictures onto cds. I had the luck of having everything backed up onto my external hard drive and than just having my wonderful boyfriend unplug it and wham the thing crashed. I've been trying to recover all my data for the past few days now. So just a reminder because I know I forget. Back everything up to cd also. Its never safe. I luckily got this great program Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery which works great. It got all my pictures back plus some ones I deleted.

I hear ya on that. I always back stuff up. I have multiple drives and always have more then one copy floating around of all my stuff. If doing backups on cd make sure they are not rewritables cause they tend to loose their integrity.

Nope they are just regular DVD-R's. I was in tears when it happened. I was more worried about the pictures. Pictures are memories...memories are a lifetime. And well I had some pics on there of a friend and I and my friend passed away not even a yr later and that was the last time I seen him. So it was a bit hard. The worse part was once my bf was done reloading his computer I was going to start backing it up. I'm running my third rrecovery on it just to make sure that i got everything.

Amen Cutie to backing up, I upload to my hard drive then copy to my external 500 gig hard drive then burn a 2 copies on CD or DVD. I keep one copy at work and one at home just in case. Also we all should not only back up pictures but documents as well.

Your right Stoney, we should probably back up just about anything that we would like to keep forever. For me the biggest was my pictures. Just because that is the past 4 years on it from. Friends that are no longer alive, etc...etc. I'm actually still doing this recovery in a more advance search and its coming up with way more things. Which is actually awesome. But unfortunately I learned my lesson sorta the hard way. Do it sooner than later.
