Forum Changes

Its great that we want to improve our forums. I have to wonder since we have made the changes with the new gallery instead of individual folders if people are happy with it. Seems that few have been posting since. What i am going to do is set up a poll. Voice your opinion on the changes.

I think the gallery is just new. I went in and made a gallery folder, but it isn't in the same place as your/noels. why is that?? And for diff pics should you open another gallery, or put them all on one.. like the photos i posted. are all together in that same posting. should i separate them? like girls portraits/boys portraits? Juat wondering cause that is all new to me.. i didn't see anyother way to post. Maybe a how to post would be helpful to everyone. especially for those of us that arent' so familiar with using the forums. just a thought. If you set up a gallery 'acct' what will happen to the photos in the folders? will they just automatically be moved , or be deleted?
I do like the new look, and i like the idea of the thumbnails for the gallery. so i would vote for the gallery, If it was explained to me better, so i understood how it works..so for now. i'm not voting. lol :)K

We may have bitten off more than we can chew. The galleries seem like a good idea, but there are problems. It seems there is a limit to how many photos you can put in a gallery, and the methods of setting them up are not clear. I set mine up, then it was not easy to add to it in the same gallery. More trial and error, I guess.
If we all try to see how it works for a week or so, then it could work, or get put back the way it was. Malibu and I thought with the old way, the front page would get way too big with a thread for each member's folders. Maybe we were just thinking too much?

I really like the idea behind the new look and its really nice but so many issues and its really not user friendly as KatiBlue had said and as for the limit I have almost maxed out aready and we have lots of members here like myself that love to take photos and post them for the rest to see. I very much enjoy seeing others photos and the limit could creat a big problem. Maybe we could come up with something else like the front home page only have a challenge link and a photos linnk and then in photos link everyones folders so they are not on the home page to clutter it up. Oh well its just my thought ...... but I'm thinking simple is good for most ppl. Not everyone goes all out and most can't be bothered with all the extra's ..... Just the posting is a hassle for some. So like papaw says we'll give it a week and also durning that week Malibu has a vote box so ppl can vote on it to see what their opinions are ...... Well thats my story.... whats yours?
